Remove EXIF data and location from photos
Drop photos to see where and when they were taken and on which device, then download copies with all of that removed.
How it works
- Step 1
Drop your photos, as many as you like.
- Step 2
See what each one reveals: GPS location, device, dates and editing software.
- Step 3
Download the clean copies, one by one or all at once.
- GPS 51.5074, −0.1278
- Canon EOS R6

Your location is often in the photo
Phones save the exact GPS position in most photos they take. Anyone who gets the original file can see where it was taken.
No loss of quality
Photos are cleaned without re-compressing, so they look exactly the same and stay about the same size.
Nothing uploaded
Files are read and cleaned in your browser. Your photos never leave your device.
Questions
What is EXIF data?
Information saved inside a photo by the camera or phone: the date and time, device model, camera settings and often the GPS location.
Does it remove the GPS location?
Yes, along with every other EXIF, XMP and IPTC field. Each cleaned photo is checked again to confirm.
Does it work with iPhone photos?
HEIC files aren’t supported yet. Share or export the photo as JPEG first (iPhones usually convert automatically when sending to a computer or website), then drop it here.
Will the photo look different?
No. Only the hidden data is removed and the image is not re-compressed. The one exception: a JPEG that relies on its EXIF data to appear rotated is re-saved upright at high quality.
