Questions
Which image tool should I use?
Use Blur faces for photos of people, Redact screenshots to black out names, emails and numbers in a screenshot, and Anonymize chats when a chat screenshot should stay readable with names replaced by labels. To remove the location and camera details hidden in a photo without changing the picture, use Remove EXIF data.
Does a photo really contain my location?
Often, yes. Phones store the GPS position, the time and the phone model inside each photo. Some social networks remove it when you upload, but email, messaging apps and file sharing usually keep it.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Faces and text are found by small models that run in your browser, and the images never leave your device.
